Good luck and our Prayers are with you Shayla Holmstead as you head off to the MTC. You are going to make a great missionary!
This weeks RS lesson was given by Megan Webster and was "Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself"
George Albert Smith was well known for his capacity to love others. Near the end of his life President Smith said, "I do not have an enemy that I know of, and there is no one in the workd that I have any enmity towards. All men and all women are my Father's children, and I have sought during my life to observe the wise direction of the Redeemer of mankind - to love my neighbor as myself...you will never know how much I love you. I have not words to express it. And I want to feel that way towards every son and daughter of my Heavenly Father."
When we reach out and give service to others we gain so much more in return. May we truly emulate the love of the Savior and seek out to love thy neighbor.

Good afternoon Sisters. I hope all is well, and that you enjoyed our all too brief "dusting" of snow.
What a great fast Sunday it has been. Listening to the testimonies shared always lift me and make me want to be a better member of the church.
Fasting for a member of the ward has such a binding spirit for all ward members. We have been so blessed to be witnesses to miracles in our ward and hope that through our faithfulness and the will of the Lord that we can continue to have members get answers to their prayers.
Our RS lesson today was given by Tanya Noland and it was the first lesson from our new manual. Teachings of George Albert Smith. We have received a few more books, if you would like one please contact Jolene Sherwood and she will get you one.
The lesson was Living What We Believe. At the age of 34 Pres. Smith made a list of resolutions that he called his "personal creed"-11 ideals that he committed to live by. Take the time to read these and then with it being the time of year that we are all setting new goals, make a list of your own "ideals to live by"
Tanya handed out this quote that really sums up her lesson:
"Let us do better than we have ever done before. Let us renew our determination to be real Latter-Day Saints, and not just make-believe. I do not know anybody who can not do a little better than he has been doing if he makes up his mind." George Albert Smith
Remember to read you scriptures and Attend the temple this month! We want all sisters at our fall retreat. Have a great week!

Relief Society Theme and Challenge

Happy New Year! Spending the morning in church was such a great way to start off the new year. I am so excited to study the Book of Mormon this year and excited about the theme we've chosen for Relief Society. For those that weren't in RS today our theme for the year will be:
The Purpose of Relief Society: Increase faith and personal righteousness
Strengthen families and homes
Seek out and help those in need
Our activities throughout the year will focus on these three areas and LaDean has given ALL sisters a challenge with a great reward!
Read the Book of Mormon daily and have it finished by October and attend the temple once a month.
For all those that meet this goal we will be going to the Bailey's cabin for an overnight retreat!
This will be a great getaway and really just a little extra bonus to the great blessing we will already be receiving!

The Bishop asked us in Sacrament meeting today to remember Emily Brannelly in our prayers and fasting next Sunday. She is still struggling with her ankle and has some tough decisions ahead of her.

Thanks to all how did their VT in December! We had 100% (thanks to a little extra help from our VT coordinator). Let's keep up our efforts throughout the year. Our sisters need us!!
